Preserving a landmark of Canadian astronomy.

Completed in 2021, the restoration renews the exteriors of the David Dunlap Observatory and its Administration Building. A building condition assessment guided the conservation of these two landmarks, originally constructed around 1935.

The work preserves significant heritage features while supporting the observatory’s continuing role in public education and outreach. Set within David Dunlap Observatory Park, the buildings connect visitors with the history of astronomical research in Canada.
